  • Owner: Dr. Leo Hornung
  • History of Use: Used by Dr Leo Hornung [1902-1981]. Born Czechoslovakia. Graduated in medicine from Vienna 1924 and Prague 1927. In 1941 he moved to U.K. where he obtained his MRCP [Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians 1948] & LRCP [The diploma of Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians] from Cardiff University, Wales U.K. Dr. Hornung moved to Vancouver in 1965 where he set up his own practice. This instrument would have been used to pull down limbs in obstructed labour and the crochet could also be used as an instrument of foetal destruction.
