Object Description

Part of WWI German Army field surgery kit. Canvas folding case with pockets and inked outline for 21 surgical instruments. 16 instruments are remaining: bone gouge, 2x handle for thread saw, needle holder, double ended bone curette, 2x intestinal forceps, bone holding forceps, bone cutting forceps, 2x retractors with handle, 2x pronged retractors, 2x trachea tubes and an angled Heister mouth gag. 'Truppenbesteck Nr.811 Einsatz 3' [Troop Medical Instruments No.811] printed on top left flap.
