Object Description

Diagnostic set; the case contains various instruments for otolaryngology and dentistry, some original to the set, others added. Hinged case; the base holds: Vitrohm potential adjuster with bayonet connection for fitting into electric lamp socket and electrical connecting lead; battery case with an on/off switch and an electrical connecting lead; disjointing vaginal speculum fitted with a lamp; nasal retractor with a ratchet mechanism to open the jaws of the speculum longitudinally; diagnostic otoscope with pivoting lens at the top; set of three aural specula 2, 4 and 6mm [fits otoscope]; tubular handle with a L shaped retracting light source and electrical connector at the base, to fit bayonet fitting on nasal retractor and diagnostic otoscope; rubber bulb with long tube attached; mouth retractor with two detachable tongue depressors and an illuminating attachment with an electrical connector at the base; two lamp adapters with electrical connectors at the base; lens with hinged rod attachment. The interior surfaces of the nasal retractor, diagnostic otoscope and aural speculum have a black coating to reduce glare and reflection. The lid holds: 'CAMERON'S ORALITE', an illuminated tongue depressor, comprising of a handle, hinge mounted detachable tongue blade and blade holder with wooden spatula, screw-in lamp and an electrical connector at the handle's base; ophthalmoscope with a rotatable unit providing viewing lenses ranging in power from - 24 to + 23, a tilted fixed plane mirror, and electrical connector at the handle's base; set of four aural specula in a screw cap case; a diagnostolite, an antralamp and a right angled dentalamp, all transillumination devices; curette with crosshatch grip handle and oval head; four ear instruments in screw lidded tube; seven assorted lamps with one right angled; two angled mirrors, one size 4; nasal speculum; holder for light source and ear instruments with set screw; pencil. Incomplete. Case dimensions given.
